Blackjack Card Counting

The players at the blackjack table tend to raise their stakes as the advantage increases or they might consider lowering the stakes when advantage decreases. Some players also tend to stay put at the table until the game is shuffled from its static state or they can “Wong out” or leave the table when the count crosses a critical limit above which they no longer have an advantage.

For 70% to 80% of the player edge, counting cards comes from comparatively large bets when the count becomes favorable to the player and the rest of the edge comes in relation to the changes towards basic strategy based on the count.

A mathematical principle known as “Kelly’s criterion” indicates that bet increase should be directly proportional to the player advantage. Card counting is the bottom-line for gambling activities as it strives to have the final say in a game of cards. Card counting has survived many transitions throughout the ages since gambling has evolved from time immemorial.

Basically speaking card counting is not to be interpreted as Greek and Latin but it is simply a smart strategy in a card game which helps to decipher and calculate the odds thereby coming to a consensus which can give a more than approximate idea of when the odds are in favor of the player to win that particular game.

This terminology is almost exclusively used to refer to something termed as tracking ratio of the high cards involved to the low cards involved in the deal in a game of blackjack. This also applies to the derivatives of blackjack like Spanish 21.sometimes this is also used to refer specifically to obtaining a count of the distribution or the remaining number of high cards in trick-taking games. This term refers to games like contract bridge or spades .but generally card counting will be pointing towards blackjack and its derivatives.
