The North Carolina Education Lottery will make its first public appearance within two weeks. The new lottery tickets will be available in 5,000 retailers from March 30.

300 retailers are going through daily training and almost 40 people will be going through a lottery machine training in Winston-Salem on Friday. Tom Shaheen, the lotterys executive director said the training includes installation of ticket terminals, testing software applications and more. Only retailers who had passed the training will be allowed to sell those lottery tickets.

More than 3,500 Education Lottery tickets had already been installed in businesses statewide. The rest of the ticket terminal will be installed until a day before March 30.

The North Carolina Educational Lottery has been collaborating with the N.C. Department of Health and Human Services. The tickets will include information about responsible gambling and a toll free number of problem gambling hotline would be printed on the back of the tickets.
