Montana police are looking into the 9th casino robbery in this part of Montana in the last 4 months, after the casino on the corner of West Idaho Street and Fifth Avenue in Kalispell was robbed shortly after midnight on Wednesday.
The Thief, disguised in a mask like the one from the movie Scream entered the casino thru a back door just before 1am on Wednesday morning brandishing a knife according to Roger Nasset, the local police chief.
The thief went up to the casinos payout area and told the clerk to empty the register and give him the money. The clerk did as told and the thief ran away from the casino with between $400 and $500 dollars.
As soon as the masked man fled from the casino the clerk called 911 and within 5 minutes the police arrived at the casino. Police investigators found the scream mask on the ground a few blocks from the casino on Washington Street which is north of the casino.
At the time the masked man entered the casino there were only 2 patrons in the casino. Police do not think that the 2 people saw anything, and no one was injured during the robbery.
The local chief of police said he felt confident that an arrest would be made by his department.
