It seems that none of the Atlantic City casinos will be going fully smoke free this fall, but will comply with the strict new smoking laws.
So far 10 of Atlantic City's casinos have said they will build special sealed off smoking rooms inside the casinos so that players do not have to leave the casino to have a smoke, but there will be no gambling allowed in these rooms, and another casino has said they will most likely do the same.
Only the Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa has not said that they are going to build the smoking rooms, but a representative from the casino has said officially that the casino will not be totally smoke free.
The president of Boyd Gaming has said they are trying to find ways to keep their smoking customers happy while complying with the law at the same time. He also stated that they know it will impact their business but not as bad as some in the industry are saying.
The casino has stated that they have made no mention of how they are going to go about accommodating their smoking customers because they have not yet decided on a plan of how they will accomplish that.
Lat week the Atlantic City city council passed a vote to totally ban smoking from casinos. The new law does allow the casinos to build enclosed rooms with special ventilation so that players can go for a smoke without having to go outside. The smoking rooms must be separate from the table and video games.
