A Montana casino was held up Monday morning by a man with a knife

The Lucky Diamond casino was held up Monday morning before dawn by a knife wielding man.

According to a Sergeant for the Missoula police department the man used the doors on the corner of Brooks and South Reserve streets to enter the casino sometime around 4:45am Monday morning.

There was only 1 casino worker in the casino at the time of the robbery and no customers were present at the time the robber entered the casino, and no one was injures during the hold up. The robber walked in and right up to the person working at the time and demanded all the money she was carrying.

The police and the casino are not saying how much the robber got away with, just that they know the robber after fleeing the casino jumped into a newer model silver car with tinted windows.

The police have released a description of the assailant. He is described as Native America, mid to late 30s, about 5 feet 7 inches tall and is thin. At the time of the robbery he was wearing a dark blue sweatshirt and dark sunglasses.

The police have said that so far they have no leads and that this crime does not seem to be related to any other crimes in the area. The Lucky Diamond has been held up before, but the description of that thief was considerably different, and police have said they are currently checking the security footage to try and identify the thief.

In the last few years the Missoula casinos have become the number one target for thieves. Several of the local casinos have installed security doors that are shut during the nights, but they have yet to be installed at the Lucky Diamond.
