Thousands to Lose Jobs in New Jersey
The governor of New Jersey stated the other day that due to a failure to approve a sale3s tax increase before the budget deadline that the state government will have to shut down some 45,000 jobs that are viewed non essential to the running of the state government.
This is the first time that a New Jersey government has even partly shut down due to a failure to sign in on a budget, and the governor is working under emergency powers to send all non essential workers for the state home.
Due to all of this the Atlantic City's casino might have to close because the governor deems that the state employees that oversee the casinos to be non essential to the day to day workings of the state government.
Most casinos have appealed to the lower courts to request a stay from closure until they can work out a deal with the state to keep them from closing and causing a money shortage in the state of New Jersey.
If there is such a ruling that would close all casinos doors, the management of those casinos would abide by the ruling and work as hard as possible to reverse the rulings to continue with gambling in the state of New Jersey.
Atlantic City is located 125 miles south of New York City and draws an amazing 33 million visitors to the area every year.
Due to reports it is said that an estimated 433 million dollars are contributed each year to the state coffers due to the casinos efforts to boost profits each year.
With casinos closing it appears that much of the state will be forced to consider new means of raising money as the budget for the state is supported so much each year from the 12 casinos in Atlantic City.
