On September 16, Indian bar girl Tarannum Khan and bookies Pradip Parmar and Milind Dhiraj Nandu were arrested and charged of cricket betting. They were suspected to be involved in a cricket betting racket. Their business did not meet the requirements of Gambling Act, Indian Telegraph Act and Information Technology Act, and some sections of IPC. Pradip Parmar and Milind Dhiraj Nandu presented a bail plea to the court, which was rejected. The court also rejected Tarannums bail plea and Tarannums lawyer, Prakash Shetty, addressed then the Bombay High Court. When she found out they were going to reject the bail plea too, she withdrew the application.
The judicial custody of Tarannum Khan and bookies Pradip Parmar and Milind Dhiraj Nandu has been extended until November 21.
