Detroit casinos are disappointed from the profits gained during the Super Bowl weekend. Though the profits were higher than any other weekend, Detroit three casinos expected much higher profits from the high roller gamblers who visited the city casinos for the event.
According to Dan Gustafson, executive director of the Michigan Gaming Control Board, even though Detroit hotels were in full capacity, the regular gamblers were missing. He said that eventually the high roller gambler did spend a lot of money during the weekend.
Greektown Casino, one of Detroit three casinos gained an average profit of 920,000 dollars per day. MotorCity Casino average daily income was 1.18 million dollars, and MGM Grand Detroit Casino earned daily average revenue of 1.26 million dollars last year.
