East Lindsey district Council voted for building a casino on the Lincolnshire coast on Wednesday. The proposed towns to host the casinos are Skegness or Mablethorpe.
East Lindsey district Council decided to apply for a small casino license in a vote held Wednesday evening. A council representative claimed that a casino building would profit the region by creating more jobs and develop the tourist industry during the season.
Local residents objected applying for a casino licenses, claiming a casino would damage the family reputation of the coast and would promote gambling amongst locals.
UK government offers eight small casino licenses and one Las Vegas style casino.
