If the consumption of Alcohol impairs your judgment to the point where you can not be trusted behind the wheel of a car, then why is it legal for you to sign a loan agreement when drunk is the question one Central Indiana Senator is asking.
The Senator is trying to pass a bill that would make it illegal for the casinos to offer someone a line of credit in the Casinos without first administering a breathalyzer to obtain if they are drunk or not.
The Senator decided to do something after a man from Kentucky, who was visibly drunk, was allowed to open a line of credit at a casino and lost $75,000 in one evening.
The man sued the casino saying he was in no condition to make that type of decision and that the casino took advantage of him.
"In many states the casinos serve players free drinks, get them liquored up then allow then to take out loans they can not afford, then the casino sues when you can not pay it back, and this is ridicules" said the Senator.
The bill if passed will make it mandatory for a player to pass a sobriety test before being allowed to sign the agreement and accept the line of credit offered by the casino, anyone who has a Blood Alcohol Level over .08 which is the same as used to determine if someone is allowed to drive, ill not be allowed to take credit, and if a casino still allows it the player will not be held responsible for the money.
