The gambling portal webmasters association has started to promote a protest against a new bill that was introduced in Congress on February. The bill suggests banning online gambling activities.
The GPWA started a campaign that focuses on protesting against the proposed law to ban online gambling and to prevent its approval. Ken Blechdom, president of a gambling entertainment and information website believes that bill has no chances to pass.
The bill was brought up last month by U.S. Rep. Bob Goodlatte, a known opponent of online gambling. Goodlatte made a similar attempt to ban online gambling in July 2000, but without success. Goodlattes bill would expand the US Wire Act of 1961, which forbids gambling via telephone wires, if it would pass this time.
