Last year the industry with the most growth was gambling and not coffee shops as in past years.

The national Statistics Office has released its data showing that the number of gambling parlors, casinos and video gambling rooms rose 137 percent in one year, but many think that this trend is at its end because of the American Online Gambling Ban that as recently signed into law by President George W Bush.

Because of the ban many are predicting that maybe up to half of the online casinos will be gone by next year, unless the law is reversed.

One statistic that shows the trend of growth in the coffee industry is over is the fact that the number of confectioneries and coffee shops has decreased by more then 12 percent, also the number of hardware and stationary stores has dropped by about 5 percent.

The total amount of businesses around the USA has gone up only 0.6 percent to 3.2 million American businesses. The NFO states that many smaller businesses went under last year due to crushing competition from larger corporate businesses.
