Police raided an illegal gambling venue in Clearfield. The venue, which looked like a restaurant, offered bingo games and a gambling machine called Chichingo. According to authorities, the game was a chance game enabled players to win up to 5,000 dollars in cash.
According to Lt. Tony Garcia, Dept. of Public Safety, about 300 people visited the gambling venue during weekends. He estimated the business operator monthly profits as around 50,000 dollars.
Police seized from the business thousands of dollars in cash, computer games, bingo cards and business records. The business owner, Wendi West, was accused of illegal gambling charges. Authorities investigated this case for a year and a half and they plan to investigate more businesses on similar suspicious.
