Isle of Capri Casinos Inc. has developed a 1 billion dollar plan that includes the development of a slots parlor in the Pittsburgh Penguins arena. The state auditor general will only issue the license if the company commits to develop the Penguins arena. Both companies have partnered in this multimillion project.
The gaming company will be responsible for the full fund of a new arena for the Penguins. The project plans a new arena for the team, with over 18.000 seats, worth 290 million dollars.
The Pittsburgh Penguins have played in the Mellon Arena since 1967, when the team began to expand. The Mellon Arena is the smallest and oldest arena in the NHL.
