Reports of mass layoffs are being reported in many of the online casinos that have already pulled out of the American online gambling Market.
Most of these companies are saying this is a one time layoff, and they are apologizing to the newly unemployed, saying there is no way they could have kept them due to the fact that they have lost more then half of there income because of the American online gambling ban signed into law on October 13th.
"When and not if the law is reversed we would be happy to re-hire all the laid off workers" said one executive who had just laid off nearly 500 workers.
Many in the industry feel that these layoffs are premature, and that when the law is actually put into effect the actual drop in income will not be as bad as everyone fears.
They are preparing for the worst case scenario, even though many experts agree that the actual drop in online gambling from the USA will only be about 10%.
Now that the mid term elections are over and the Democrats have won control of congress, many believe that the new law will never be enforced and that the Democrats will try to get the law reversed within the first 6 months, but it will not be an easy fight because any reversal will have to be signed by the president.
