A poll results suggest that the majority of Rhode Island residents want to have the option of voting on a plan to build a casino in West Warwick. Critics of the poll say it is biased, since the casino promoters produced the poll.
The poll was managed a week ago. About 600 voters received it. 64 percent of the voters believe they should decide whether to make changes in the states Constitution to legalize a casino. 32 percent opposed to this idea. The poll has a four percent margin for mistake.
The planned casino would be a joint venture of the Narragansett Indian tribe and Harrahs Entertainment from Las Vegas. The critics of the poll claim that in addition of being supported by the casino promoters, the fact that Harras is investing in the proposed casino was not mention in the poll.
