The Irish online poker site Paddy Power Poker announced Monday the schedule for the Irish Poker Open 2007. The upcoming Irish poker event is expected to be the biggest poker tournament in Ireland and a landmark in the history of European poker.

Following the success of the Irish Open 2006, Paddy Power Poker plans to increase the prize pool to 2 million sterling pounds, which makes it not only the richest poker tournament in Europe. In addition, the Irish Poker Open 2007 is expected to double the number of entrants to 800 players comparing to the 339 players who took part in former event.

Irish Poker Open 2007 is scheduled to Easter Weekend 2007 and it will take place in Dublin, Ireland. Paddy Power Poker website will be hosting a special freeroll to celebrate the event on Thursday, 24 August at 9 pm. The qualifiers for Irish Poker Open 2007 will begin on 27 August 2006 and will go from two daily feeders to weekly grand finals.

Some of the top pro poker players took part in the Irish Open 2006 including Mel Judah, Padraig Parkinson, Per Hilderbrand and more. Vincent Melinn won the at the final table event and took home 350,000 sterling pounds of the 1 million pounds prize pool.
