A Local Woman, who was injured during a visit to the Old Casino Queen floating casino, is suing the casinos. The law suite states that her injuries were from the casinos lack of maintaining its facilities properly.
The woman is making claims that she was hurt after she tripped and fell over a carpet and metal threshold that was not installed properly, while she was climbing a flight of stairs at the Casino Queen on April 1, 2006.
Since the incident took place the casino has opened a new 92 million dollar facility that sits on a man made moat.
The law suite states that the casino failed to either properly warn patrons of the improperly installed carpet or to even just fix the problem with the carpet on the stairs, which is on a staircase which is heavily used because of its location to the casinos entrance and exit.
According to the complaint the plaintiff took every precaution for climbing a flight of stairs and was injured at no fault of her won due to negligence on the part of the defendant's lack of foresight in seeing a problem with improperly laid carpet on the main stairs.
The plaintiff is claiming injuries varying in degree to her head, skull, neck, torso, legs and arms, shoulders and knees, and a shock to her central nervous system which she is claiming is permanent and constantly getting worse.
She is claiming that her injuries have brought her great pain and cost her greatly in medical expenses.
She is seeking damages of $50,000 plus the lawyer and court fees.
