Casino Gaming Trends in Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta

The gambling revenues for Canada declined in the year 2008. This is the first ever decline in the Canadian Gambling industry.

This is in part due to the fact that Canadians are investing less money in to gambling games and lottery tickets. This is partly because they have re-prioritized gambling in their spending list.

On an average, there used to be at least one gambler in one home; however, this number has declined remarkably and statistical evidence proves this by a decline in gambler percentage from 74% in 2000 to 52% in 2007.

Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta were the leading regions which provided with gambling revenues in the lead. Notably, most of these regions do have Indian Casinos.

In an individual analysis if gamblers in various cities, in Manitoba, the toll was as high as 56% when compared with the rest of the places in terms of household members playing in slots, purchasing lottery, playing bingo etcetera.

However, the decline is not the end of the gambling industry, because several of the casino games are showing increase in the number of casino players despite the reported decline in overall gambler numbers.

Some of the provinces are improving in their economy and therefore people living there are considering spending their revenues in gambling chores.  Per head gambling revenue was reportedly highest in Saskatchewan at $825 followed by second and third next numbers per head in Alberta and Manitoba.

Reports suggest that a $20,000 income household spent $678 on an average and an $80,000 income household spent $800 on an average.  The average numbers suggest that the money spent in gambling is not really a huge chunk out of the discretionary income.  It is expected that gaming is popular and will continue to be popular.
