Video cameras will be following around several casino workers and patrons of the Black Bear Casino during their day to day life for a new reality based TV show.
Kenny Sutherland is one casino employee who will be involved in the show. Kenny began working in Vegas as an Elvis impersonator in 1989, and now he is a maintenance worker for the Black Bear Casino.
The concept for the show came to Doug Hajicek, the series creator and producer, while he was on a trip to Minnesota and first saw the sights and sounds of the local casinos.
Hajicek said he thought it would be a great idea to follow around some of the local players and workers of the casino and since in this small community in the middle of nowhere the casino is the center of life in the area, why not make it the center of the show as well.
He describes the Black Bear Casino as a unique casino where you can see lumber jacks and grandmothers ambling next to each other. He also describes it as a place where instead of neon lights smacking you in the face you have the Northern Lights Dancing in the sky.
The casino employees that will be involved in the show have been very excited about it, and as the crew was unloading and setting up equipment you could really feel an energy in the air of the casino.
If the pilot is picked up they will shoot 26 episodes that will air some time in 2009
