In video poker the player places his or her bets. In online video poker the player also makes his bet before the computer deals the cards.

After the cards are dealt the players may then select with cards to keep and witch to have re dealt. In a casino the player will do this by either pressing a button that will select which cards you want to keep or which ones you want to replace. Make sure to read the instructions on the machine before making your selection to see which type of video poker machine you are on. No one wants to accidentally give back 3 Aces because they did not realize that by selecting the cards they were to be given back.

In online video poker, you will either select which cards to replay or hold by clicking them with the mouse. It is just as important to make sure which type of online video poker machine as it is the casino version.

When playing online video poker how much you bet and what your hand is will determine how much you win. For example if you bet 1 Dollar and you get a pair, you will usually win 2 Dollars, and a 1 Dollar bet with 3 of a kind will get you 3 Dollars , and so on.

The better the hand in online video poker the more money you will win. On some machines I have seen a 1 Dollar bet pay off over 1 Thousand dollars for a Royal Flush.
