• The next thing to do is make sure you have a good place to play a nice card table or if you have the money and are planning to make this a regular poker game, then you may want to invest in a good poker table with cushioned edges and places for your chips and drinks.
• Deciding what to serve at your poker game is important. The wrong type of food will slow the game or bring it to a complete halt.
  When picking your foods try to remember that this is a card game, so foods that need a knife and fork you may want to stay clear of small deli sandwiches are always good they can be eating and put aside quickly and with no one missing there turn.
• Beverages are another important part of any poker game, many people like to get drunk when playing, but this means the poker game will have to take frequent breaks for players to run to the bathroom, but this is unavoidable. You should always have plenty of beer and something not too strong for those players who like to do shots when they play poker.
• Snacks should also be plentiful, but make sure that whatever you put out is not covered in something that will spread over the cards. My personal favorite snacks is cheddar covered pretzels, but at a poker game the cheese would be all over the cards, so try to get just plain chips, pretzels and maybe some popcorn.
