Rummy Rules

There are many other games out there that people play aside from casino games and internet online games. Growing up and riding several hours back and forth to visit the grandparents gave my brother and myself a lot of time to learn and master a few games. Because of all of these previous life experiences growing up I have a few favorite games myself.

The game of rummy is a favorite among many people, and it is no weak game to play, always interesting and exciting and offering the play of the game to not always be repetitive and boring.

The Object of Rummy

When playing 7 card rummy the object of the game is to be the first with a 3 of a kind, a 4 of a kind or a run of 3 or a run of 4, or combining these together with a run or a 3 or four of a kind.

Rummy can be played between two or three people and can be played from 7 cards to 11 cards and even 21 cards. The more cards, the more difficult.

How the Game Works

The play in rummy works like this, the dealer deals 8 cards to his opponent and deals 7 to his self. The opponent must decide which card to discard, after discarding it is the dealers turn. Now the dealer can decide whether to take a card that was previously discarded, only the top card, or can decide to take a card from the deck.

The game continues like this until some has the winning hand which can be later than sooner and vice versa, but still needs to draw a card or take a card from the discard pile. Taking the 8th card and turning it facedown on the discard pile signifies the end of the game and then the winner shows his hand and then play switches and then continues as long as both of you want to continue to play rummy.
